Nationwide Semester Ticket
What is the semester ticket?
In the summer semester of 2024, the nationwide semester ticket was introduced at the University of Rostock for the first time — a semester ticket that allows students to use public transport throughout Germany.
We will also be using the nationwide semester ticket in the winter semester 2024/25. The conditions of the Deutschlandticket apply.
The semester ticket is based on the principle of solidarity: every student pays for the semester ticket with their semester fee, regardless of whether they want to use the ticket or not. In this way, every fellow student finances the extremely favourable conditions under which the majority of students can use public transport.
What do I have to do to get the semester ticket?
All students who have enrolled by 7 October should have a ticket in the app. If this is not the case and you are correctly registered and have already tried to log in and out of the app, please write an email to buero.asta@uni-rostock.de.
If you registered after 7 October and do not yet see your ticket in the app, please log in to our administration portal so that we can take care of activating the ticket manually: https://portal.asta-rostock.de/en/asta/bundesweites-semesterticket/. How quickly this is done depends on our workload and that of the VVW (Verkehrsverbund Warnow). However, we endeavour to get the tickets into the app within a few working days.
Where can I find my semester ticket?
The semester ticket is primarily available in the VVW (Verkehrsverbund Warnow) app. It is still possible to apply for a chip card (see application form below).
You must register in the VVW app with your university email (i.e. create a new account) if you do not have a profile from previous semesters.
Directly below this paragraph you will find instructions from the VVW on how to register in the app. Please note that it is unfortunately only availbale in German. You can come to our office during our opening hours if you need help with the app.
WICHTIG: Bei Schritt 2 müsst ihr eure Uni-Mailadresse verwenden (in der Regel “vorname.nachname@uni-rostock.de”).
