The new legislature began on 16 October 2024 with the constitution of the new StuRa. This means that a new AStA will be and has already been partially elected. However, there are still some vacancies – so:

The General Students’ Committee – AStA for short – is the executive body of the student representatives. The AStA currently consists of 14 departments, all of which are organised very differently. After the new elections, not all departments have been filled. Some departments are being managed provisionally by former officers, some are completely vacant. At the moment (as of 14.11.24 after the StuRa meeting), people are being sought for the following departments:
- University Policy (Deputy Chair)
- Management Board
- Digital
- Studies and teaching
- Press relations
- Mental Health
The AStA sees itself as a collegial team, where people work within their own department and support each other both in thematic working groups and as a team as a whole. The aim is to have a positive influence on student life. The weekly meetings are used to exchange ideas, discuss proposals and make decisions. The range of work is wide: some departments work a lot on content, others organise many events. Therefore, please have a look at the job market (https://jobs.asta-rostock.de/), where all departments are advertised. There you will find a detailed description of the department.
You can also contact the provisional people and the AStA chair at any time to talk about the department. You are also welcome to come to an AStA meeting to get a feel for it. The student representation team usually works well, but it works best when many shoulders carry the system!
